I want to upgrade my BMW 328CI, any parts, ideas i can use or websites i can check for the best prices.?

by Reed on December 13, 2009

I have a 2000 bmw 328ci with a manual transmission, i want to improve its performance but the engine has over 100k miles so i dont know if i can turbo my car or not. I dont have a lot money but, i want to find the best details to make my car much better

you can check out these sites if you wanna get the most for the money:

bavauto.com
modbargains.com
umnitza.com (they are mostly for angel eyes but they also have some cold air intake)
Ebay (sometimes you can find some good stuff)

6cyl engine could be supercharged but its a lot of $$$ ESS superchargers have them for your car but its like 5000 bucks i think.. in my opinion too much

Go for the easy stuff like cold air intake, maybe a dinan chip and a good exhaust. i personally like Remus Exhaust, its the best.. i put one on my 528i, same engine as yours… big difference and sounds good.
all these should increase your HP like 15%

Get an intake, its gonna be the most affective at the least price, then an exhaust system, headers, etc. Turbo or super charging a beamer is gonna cost you a lot of money, A LOT.

The simplest start would be performance enhancing software from Dinan or another source. (www.bavauto.com has some tuner chips, although I cant vouch for how well they work) Following that, a higher flow intake and exhaust system (and the associated reprogramming).

BMW motors are quite strong, even at 100K miles, so don’t let the mileage discourage you from pushing the car hard. I still drive my 95 530i hard and its up over 250,000 now. Still runs like new.

Also, as you improve power, keep in mind the other parts of the car such as suspension, brakes and tires. You can install E46 M3 lower control arm bushings to stiffen up the front suspension. (there are also urethane bushings available, your choice)

You may also consider selling your car and trying to find an 02 to 05 330i instead.

Forget all these people, if you want quality and performance, goto Dinan.

Dinancars.com

Of Hamman

Or AC Schnitzer, those are all read BMW mod companies not just some guy in a warehouse with stuff from China

Look in the L.A. Times and Orange County Register news papers for used cars. Look at several of BMW’s POV cars (Previously Owned Vehicles) that have reasonably low mileage and cost about 60% of the new car price.
Do you subscribe to BMW’s ROUNDEL Magazine? You can get some good ideas about the cost of owning or buying a 328i from it. TEL: 864.250.0022 in Greenville, S.C.
