Anyone know where I can get a set of BMW chrome wheels?
Got a cert preowned 745Li. Thought I’d be OK with the alloys. Changed my mind.
I know the dealership has em… and other sources?
(Lookin for19’s offset like the stocks.)
Thanks
If you want to tune-up a 745Li, you can choose from after-market brands such as BBS,Santera,OZ Racing…BMW choices of wheels/rims quite limited.
I’d go for OZ Racing, they look perfect on a 745Li.
Make sure when you buy the tires at the same time with the wheels so you’d get them balanced properly at the dealer.
Good luck

Is it possible to put standard steel winter wheels meant for a BMW on Hyundai Sonata? How are wheels different
Other than tire size and overall diameter, what wheel dimensions affect suitability? And is there a web site that give all details for wheels and tires for all cars?
the first thing to consider is how many lugs each wheel has, 4 or 5, then if the diameter is smaller you have a good chance the smaller wheel, if its not the stock one, will hit the brake caliper. then you have to figure out if the backspacing is correct. this is where the inner part of the wheel to the outer part is the same in measurement. if not it could also rub especially when turning on the front wheels. i have been a technician for almost 10 years but you could also take your car and the winter wheels you want to use to a tire store and have them do the measurements and tell you if they would work or not. good luck!

1984 BMW wheels won’t turn, has been in garage for 5 years?
My 1984 BMW has been in he garage for 5 years, Runs fine but when I tried to move him, his wheels won’t turn. How can I get them to turn?
The brake shoes have rusted to the drums or rotors. This can be very hard to overcome. Try dragging it out with another vehicle and be careful not to connect the tow chain to anything that will bend (like bumper) – go for a frame connection. If that does not work (probably won’t) you will have to jack the car up and remove all the wheels. Then you will have to try a couple of approaches.
1. Try whacking the drum with a heavy wooden or rubber mallet. NOT iron. This may loosen things up.
2. Try heating the outside of the drum up with a torch, letting it cool, heating again, letting it cool and then whacking with the wooden mallet. Do NOT use heat at the top of the drum where the wheel cylinder is.
3. If the front rotors are stuck you should be able to pry them apart with a screw drive or brass wedge that you jam in between the rotor and the brake pad. If you don’t use brass plan on replacing the rotors, pads, and possibly the caliper too.
Good luck, it is going to be a PIA no matter what…
