What’s a good exhaust to buy for a 2001 E46 BMW 330i ZSP?

by Reed on December 8, 2009

I want it to be like louder than a freaking aircraft, and give me some performance as well.

supersprint race exhaust.. if you have the headers, straight pipe, connecting pipe w/o resonator, and race muffler system, you’ll be miles louder than an aircraft. also reccommended: remus, active autowerke, borla, milltek, eisenmann, evosport (headers), dinan, rogue engineering, etc. main thing to look for is the grade of the stainless steel (should be t304).

i put an aftermarket exhaust in my 2000 bmw 323i?

by Reed on December 8, 2009

i just put an aftermarket exhaust on 2000 bmw 323i and i just wanted to know if tht would hurt the engine in anyway or if it would hurt the car in any ways as in mechanically or physically i just dont wanna damage the car by just putting an aftermarket exhaust

No but it might create too much heat for your neon lights! An exhaust will not break anything, just stick with a reputable brand. I knew the Remus, ACS, Scorpion etc. cost about 1000 dollars more than a fart can but theres a reason.

What is a good exhaust to buy for my 00 bmw 323 ci. Im looking for a deep powerfull sound, inexpensive if poss?

by Reed on December 8, 2009

I dont want anything that sounds like a pissed off weed eater, just a smooth nice sound. Thanks for helping

Exhaust note is as personal as the smell of your cologne. Each person has a different preference to how he/she defines "powerful sound".

There’re a lot of choices in the market. Your best resource for these will be specialized BMW tuners such as Turner Motor Sports, Bavarian Auto Sports, Dinan, Active Autowerke, Hamann…etc

There are also popular brands such as Remus, AC Schnitzer, Borla, Apexi, HKS, GReddy…etc

Many BMW owners seem to like Borla as one of the more cost effective exhaust systems. But your choice could be completely different.

Best Sounding/Performance Exhaust For BMW e46 330i?

by Reed on December 8, 2009

Okay I’m buying a used BMW e46 330i (preferably with sport package) in the next two months and wondering which exhaust system would provide my car with the best exhaust note and performance .My budget is around $1200 and I favor clean, deep racecar tones, not the raspy, obnoxious ricer tones (if that makes sense). I live in San Diego and I’m not familiar at all with the cities emissions laws, but I probably need a system with catalytic converters (maybe high flow cats) and I’m not sure if resonators are needed. If anyone has had experience with BMW exhaust systems your response would be greatly appreciated. :)

Some of the systems i have been looking at are: eisenman, remus, borla, AA, Supersprint, DINAN, and Rogue Engineering.

Thanks for your time!!

Yes very decent car,
For me in terms of performance/appearance/sound
-UUC
-Eisenman
-Borla
-Remus

Problem with some of the systems on a 6cyl is they sound a little buzzy, UUC tends to have deepest and most aggressive tone, with a little bark on downshift.

Best installation in my opinion would be full system – catbacks, leave stock cats in place.

All of these systems will be 50 state legal (catbacks).

In due course if you do a performance header installation will improve the complete system and set your car up for more power on the intake side if thats where you decide to go.

Youtube has sound clips, and that would be a good place to start perhaps.

regards
