How do you take out the old bmw centre badges on the wheels to put new ones on?

by Reed on December 12, 2009

Simple! Slide a small standard screwdriver or butter knife under the edge (no need to remove the centre from the wheel or the wheel from the car) of the original and gently pull it up. Slide the tool under farther if required. It will pop right off. Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and press the new emblem in place.

how do i remove and install a new 2000, BMW hood emblem? Thank you for your answer on mirrors brod 894!?

by Reed on December 9, 2009

brod 894 i assume i install the new glass mirror in reverse!?!?

Very carefully put a small screwdriver underneath the Roundel and lift it a little. Make sure you put something in between the screwdriver and the hood of the car to keep from scratching the hood. As you lift the Roundel, slide a credit card into the space you have created and push the card as far down as it will go. Then pull on the outward on the card to create a space you can put another card into in the other half of the Roundel. Use these cards that are now under the Roundel to work the Roundel out. It is held in place by 2 pins that fit inside to rubber fittings that are inserted into the two holes in the hood of the car which are behind the Roundel. There are no adhesives involved.

how do i open the hood on a e36 BMW 318is?

by Reed on December 9, 2009

the cable has come off from the lock reliece under the hood. i have the grills out bt i cant open it help!!! plz

ok if the hood is popped up but will not release the whole way then this problem isn’t that big of a deal, if the cable is detached and the hood is shut tight the you might want to start cuttin….If it is popped up a little then you need to get at least a 15 inch flat head screw driver. Take a flash light and look where the release catches the striker. With your screwdriver pry the latch the correct way, think on that model it is to the right, drivers side, and jiggle the hood up and down during this. It might take a ligtle while, but it will work trust me ive been there.

The hood on my 318i 1984 BMW hood release has been pulled out from under the dash, now I can’t open…?

by Reed on December 9, 2009

I don’t know where it snapped from, how in the world can I get it open to work on it?
It seems like the whole cable came out. Also the hood opens from the rear.

You can use a flat head screw driver just go up to the front drivers headlight grill and there is a slot to stick a screwdriver in and just turn the screwdriver and the hood will pop right open.

The method should pop open the rear opening hood on the E30 3 series.
